The new Zilhij moon will be sighted today (Wednesday), according to astronomical parameters. Therefore, Zilhij One, 1430 AH will fall tomorrow (Thursday). The moon crossed the conjunction line yesterday (Tuesday) at 0014 Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
The sunset today will be at 1744 PST, and the evening civil twilight (ECTL) will be at 1809 PST. The moon will set at 1852 PST. Thus the age of the new moon will be 41 hours and 55 minutes at ECTL. It will set 68 minutes after sunset and 43 minutes after ECTL.
At ECTL the moon will be at an altitude of seven degrees and nine minutes and at an azimuth of 236 degrees and 45 minutes. At sunset the moon will be at an altitude of 11 degrees and 37 minutes and at an azimuth of 233 degrees and 39 minutes. According to astronomical parameters, there is a very bright chance of sighting the new moon for Zilhij 1430 AH today. Thus Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, November 28.
