President Zardari on Tuesday directed PPP information secretaries to effectively counter what he said 'media campaign' against him. Chairing a meeting of PPP's district information secretaries from across the country held at Awan-e-Sadr, President Zardari directed them to give effective response to the 'campaign' that has been started against him and the party.
Sources said President Zardari opined that a massive media campaign is under way against him and advised the party information secretaries to counter it. He said PPP has given sacrifices in the past and would do so in future as well but would not be blackmailed by anyone.
He said media should be effectively used to project the performance of the government as well as dispelling the wrong impression about the party. The meeting was also attended by Information Minister Qamer Zaman Kaira, Fouzia Wahab, Rukhsana Bangash, Mehreen Anwar Raja and Farhatullah Babar.
