The Lahore High Court (LHC) here Wednesday sought replies from federal law ministry and Registrar Supreme Court in a petition filed by employees of banking and federal courts seeking increase in their allowances equal to high court staff. Earlier petitioners' counsel Aftab Ahmad Bajwa argued before Justice Mian Saqib Nisar who admitted the peetition for regular hearing.
The counsel contended that following the order of Supreme Court the judicial staff had been repatriated from executive in the light of National Judicial Policy, 2009. After this the salaries and allowance of all judicial staff had been increased considerably. But the employees of banking and federal courts were not being treated as judicial employees despite the fact that these courts were in the control of High Court, counsel said.
