Managing Director, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), Rasheed Lone has said the company would go for load shedding of natural gas in case of the shortage of utility. The period of load shedding, he said would be kept at minimum. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) in his office in Islamabad on Thursday.
The MD SNGPL assured the business community for initiating measures for the resolution of their problems. He said that the company has not started any load shedding of the gas and if the situation remains the same, there would be no need of load shedding. In case of increase in cold, he however, did not rule the possibility of going for gas load shedding.
In response to the disputed cases, he assured the delegation of Sarhad chamber that Senior General Manager Operation Imdad Hussain would soon visit the chamber and would take steps for settlement of the cases. Speaking on the occasion, President SCCI, Riaz Arshad briefed MD SNGPL regarding reservations of industrialists and CNG stations owners on the load shedding and low pressure of natural gas.
He demanded exemption of NWFP industrial estates from gas load shedding. Regarding dispute between business community and SNGPL, he suggested the establishment of a committee on the pattern of Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADRC), to seek out court settlement of the disputes.
The SCCI delegation comprised of former SCCI presidents, Mohsin Aziz, Malik Niaz Ahmad, Adeel Rauf, vice president, Zulfikar Ali Khan, executive members Dr Omar Khan Zakori, Mir Suhail Hashmat, Ghulam Dastagir, Mohammad Luqman Shah, Sajida Zulfikar, President Hattar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Babar Mahmood Sherazi, Wajid Afridi, Yusuf Sarwar, Zulfikar Awan, Khan Gul, Imtiaz Ahmad and Malik Altaf. Senior General Manager (GM) Operation, Imdad Hussain and GM Peshawar, Khalid Pervez and other senior officials of the company were also present on the occasion.
