The Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, has said that the leadership of all the provinces will have to work together to bring Pakistan out of prevailing situation. He was addressing the workers of PML-N Sindh at the residence of its Provincial Chief Syed Ghaus Ali Shah.
He said that his visit to Karachi had been in connection with the meeting of National Finance Commission, yet he could not think of going back without meeting his workers. Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab is not the big brother of Sindh, Balochistan and NWFP but equal brother and is prepared to give sacrifice for smaller provinces as he was of the considered view that Pakistan cannot progress unless other provinces will not be prosperous like the Punjab.
He said if people of Sindh wants the change of destiny of Sindh province, they should vote for Nawaz Sharif in next elections. He recalled that 1991 Water Accord had been an achievement of Mian Nawaz Sharif and which provided protection to the interests of smaller provinces.
Earlier, Ghaus Ali Shah, a former Sindh Chief Minister, said that the leadership emerging from the Punjab is the leadership of not Punjab only but entire Pakistan and this would safeguard the interests of entire Pakistan. He said that Shahbaz Sharif won the hearts of people of Sindh by declaring that the Punjab will not disappoint the smaller provinces on the issue of NFC award.
Later talking to media, Shahbaz Sharif said that the mistrusts spread about Punjab could be based on some facts but majority had been based on exaggeration. To a question, he said we have no "Kutti" with MQM and meetings continue to be held with their leadership and even today Governor Sindh has invited him on tea.
