Seed Certification Officers of Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department of Ministry of Food & Agriculture (MINFA), Islamabad, has demanded upgradation of their posts on the pattern of the provincial government of Punjab.
An official of the Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department told that thirty (30) Seed Certification Officers of supervisory posts are working in BPS-17 for the last 20 to 25 years and majority of them are near to be retired in the same grade.
The provincial government of Punjab last year had upgraded all such supervisory posts to BPS-18 under the Notification No SO (A.II) 11-9/2007 on dated 07.10.2008. The decision has become a ray of hope for all the employees who are working on supervisory posts in Agriculture Department of other provinces as well as the Ministry itself.
The decision of the government of Punjab has been extended in three wings of the Agriculture Department included Agriculture Extension, Adoptive Research Wing and In-Service Agriculture Institute. According to a senior official, a large number of agriculture graduates have been working as Seed Certification Officers (BPS-17) for the last 20 to 25 years in the department after their selection from Federal Public Service Commission.
They are demanding from Federal Minister of Agriculture, Federal Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary Establishment Division and Secretary Finance for their up-gradation from BS-17 to BS-18. as to safe their future.
