On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, an oath taking ceremony of newly recruited educationalists was held here on Wednesday at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium. MPA Khawaja Muhammad Islam was the chief guest on the occasion while MPAs Chaudhry Raza Nasrullah Gumman and Rao Kashif Raheem, DCO Saeed Wahlah, Acting EDO Education Kishwar Rana and others officers were also present.
Addressing the ceremony the chief guest said that Chief Minister Punjab has firmly believed in good governance and rule of merit in the government offices. He added that 40,000 educationalists have been recruited so far in the provincial education sector on merit basis, which would help enhance standard of education.
Congratulating the newly recruited educationalists, he urged them to discharge their professional duties with full commitment and dedication by adopting policy of merit in their professional life so that new generation could be imparted quality education for their bright future and development of the country. He appreciated the education friendly policies of Chief Minister Punjab and said that education and health sectors are top priority of the government.
Offering scholarships to encourage talented students, elimination of ghost schools and booty mafia, remarkable education policy and posting of honest and best officers at the educational institutions are major steps taken by the Chief Minister. He urged the educators to endeavour for bringing the government schools at par with the private education institutions standards so that parents should approach the government schools for the quality education for their children with full satisfaction.
MPAs Chaudhry Raza Nasrullah Gumman and Rao Kashif Raheem while speaking on the occasion, said that the nation has attached a lot of expectations from the educationalists for character building of new generation on strong grounds. They lauded fair and transparent process of recruitment and said that the Chief Minister Punjab has not accepted any political pressure in the process of recruitment of educationalists.
They congratulated the newly recruited educationalists and asked them to perform their duties with full devotion by putting aside all personal and political interests so that country could be get out of the crises. DCO Saeed Wahlah informed that a big exercise was carried out for recruiting the educationalists in the district adding that more than 37,000 applications were received while 3193 candidates have been recruited, who were meeting merit grounds.
Addressing the function a retired teacher Chaudhry Muhammad Akrim highlighted the importance and benefits of education and said that the educationalists should strive to live up to the expectations of the nation. Earlier, chief guest MPA Khawja Muhammad Islam took oath from the newly recruited educationalists viz-a-viz discharging their duties with full commitment and responsibility with true heart.
