Japan will extend financial support of Rs4.4 million to the "The Citizens Foundation (TCF)", a non- governmental organization, under the "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects" for the extension of primary school in Dina Nath, Bhai Phero, Punjab.
According to Japanese embassy, the agreement for the project was signed Thursday at the Japanese Ambassador's residence here between Chihiro Atsumi, the Ambassador of Japan and Syed Asaad Ayub Ahmad, President & CEO of TCF.
The grant will be utilized for the construction of 6 classrooms and 5 toilets to expand the existing primary school in the village of Dina Nath.
In addition to that, the project will also provide furniture for 200 students, 500 library books, and a generator for the school. This project is expected to benefit about 200 students. The water filtration plant will also be installed to supply safe and clean drinking water to the proposed school as well as other educational institutions in the compound.
At the signing ceremony, the Japanese Ambassador Chihiro Atsumi stressed that education sector is the priority area in Japan's ODA. He also expressed his hope that the project would help in improving the educational environment for the students in the village of Dina Nath and contribute to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the people of Japan and Pakistan.
