Whereabouts of Osama: foreign office refutes Brown's statement

The Foreign Office on Monday refuted the statement of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown calling upon Pakistan authorities to take joint action against al Qaeda and step up efforts to track down the group's leader Osama bin Laden. Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said that Pakistan has central role in war on terror and it knows nothing about the whereabouts of al Qaeda supreme commander Osama Bin Laden.
He added that if any country has information about the whereabouts of Osama being in Pakistan it should share it with Pakistan to enable it to take necessary action. The spokesman added that the statement of British's Prime Minister was beyond apprehension as Pakistan's role in war on terror was doubted despite its leading and sincere role in this war. He added that Pakistan has suffered a lot in this war and its contribution should be appreciated by the international community.
