Spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar has said that the ordinances were re-promulgated by President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of the Prime Minister to implement the Supreme Court verdict of July 31, 2009.
The SC verdict said that ordinances promulgated before November 3, 2007 had to be placed before the Parliament in 120 days. The deadline was November 28, 2009. The ordinances were re-promulgated, as the bills could not got passed from both the Houses within the deadline, he said.
