The trading community opened account in National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Abresham Garan Chowk Yadgar Branch for collection of donations for the rehabilitation of the Meena Bazaar bomb blast affected traders. The Account No 16859-5 would be used for depositing of the Tajir Mutasireen Fund for rehabilitation of the affected traders.
For this purpose, the traders' associations of three bazaars included Meena Bazaar, Kochi Bazaar and Charikoban Road have joined hands for the rehabilitation of the affected shopkeepers. The account is a joint carrying the names of the presidents of the bazaars. The trade associations have also formed a 10-member committee with Mohammad Tariq Haidri, president of the Charikoban Road Traders Association as secretary of the committee.
The trading community of Peshawar in their meeting with Governor NWFP Owais Ahmad Ghani has demanded financial assistance for the affected traders. The governor announced a fund of Rs 5 million for the traders' relief fund. The account has been opened on the directives of the Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani.
President of the committee, Liaquat Badshah, Secretary Mohammad Tariq Haidri and secretary finance, Malik Zahoor Elahi have thanked the governor and requested Chief Minister to put the share of provincial government in the affectees' fund. The members of the committee have also appealed the resourceful people for giving their share and sympathy with the affected traders to stand them on their own feets.
