Different development projects including proposal for construction of Dao and Darawat Dam would uplift the living standards of the people of the district, Zila Nazim Jamshoro Malak Asad Sikandar said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Thano Bulla Khan Press Club on Tuesday night.
He said that media today has emerged as a strong pillar of the democracy and it has to perform its duties in a transparent manner for strengthening democracy in the country. While lauding the services of the journalists of Thano Bulla Khan, the Zila Nazim advised them to confirm and consider the customs of the people of the area before reporting news to avoid any kind of confrontation.
He also presented a cheque of Rs 100,000 to the President of Thano Bulla Khan Press Club, Ghulam Mustafa Memon as financial aid and announced for providing more furniture, computers and maintenance work of the building from the district government.
The Taluka Nazim Thano Bulla Khan Malak Qamruddin also announced Rs 30,000 as financial aid for club. The district government of Jamshoro donated the building for establishment of the press club. Zila Nazim further said that Jamshoro District was scattered in hundreds miles as such communication network was being given priority along with basic facilities of education and health.
The Zila Nazim claimed that Jamshoro District has been converted into crime free district and no heinous crime of robbery has been reported since long time. He said that to protect the lives and property was the duty of district government, which according to him was being performed with success.
