Australian High Commissioner Tim George has shown his interest in the import of mangoes from Multan and said that this city is regarded as the City of Saints and also famous because of its delicious mangoes. Australia is interested in importing mangoes from Pakistan, especially, Multani mangoes would be on the top of list.
He said this in a meeting with Commissioner Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi during his three-day visit to Multan. Tim George said, "Australian is a friend of Pakistan and we would increase our co-operation and partnership with Pakistan in agriculture, trade and livestock sectors." Commissioner thanked the Australian High Commissioner for taking interest in the prosperity and development projects in Pakistan. He added with the import of mangoes from Pakistan, the economic relations of both the countries would strengthen.
Tight security arrangements are made during this visit, however, the mobility of Australian High Commissioner is kept limited due to security threats. He also visited the shrines and historical places of the city.
