Prices showed rising trend in low profile sales on the wholesale commodity markets during the week ended on December 5, 2009. The wheat prices weakened on Wednesday low kind losing Rs 25 to Rs 2625, while the other variety was quoted at Rs 2640. Moong Punjab lost sharply by Rs 250 to Rs 2550, while masoor Canada rose by Rs 200 to Rs 8000.
On Thursday some movement was marked where Irri 6-Sindh low type was up by Rs 35 to Rs 2425, while better type rose by Rs 75 to Rs 2525, basmati rose sharply by Rs 300 to Rs 3500, while low type was put at Rs 2500. Cotton cakes low type rose by Rs 15 to Rs 1075 and better type turned higher by Rs 20 to Rs 1100. Rapeseed Nawabshash better type shed Rs 75 to Rs 1710, while inferior type was put at Rs 1700, rapeseed Dadulane low type was unchanged at Rs 1250, while the better type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 1300. On the gram side yellow peas dal Canada lost Rs 100 to Rs 3250, while the other was put at Rs 3500. Gur low type retained its last level at Rs 4900, while the other type was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5500.
On Jodia Bazaar: Ceylon raw rubber per Lb, Merryrub (equivalent to Rss3) rose by Rs 5 to Rs 115, RSSV rose by Rs 4 to Rs 115, Merryrub equivalent to Gape) quoted at Rs 125 and pale. Crape TPC 3 quoted at Rs 125. Ltex Merrytax (28 Kg) rose by Rs 60 to Rs 770, Semnan Tex up Rs 60 to Rs 770 and Thai (G.T) rose by Rs 60 to Rs 770.
On Friday no transaction was reported, as the market participants as usual were busy in preparations for Juma prayers. On Saturday a few changes were seen, as most of the commodity items retained the overnight levels in process of trading. Wheat old and new was lower by Rs 15 to Rs 2635-2650. Gur followed the same trend, fell Rs 100 to Rs 4800-5400. Til low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 2900 and good type gained Rs 200 to Rs 4300, cottonseed oilcake with bag low type was up by Rs 5 to Rs 1080, the better type, however, shed Rs 15 to Rs 1085. Irri-9 Sindh low type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2900, while the best type did not move any side due to balanced demand and supply at Rs 3000.
On Jodia Bazaar dry fruits moved both ways. The changes were: DRY FRUITS (Per 40 kg): Almond (Irani) closed higher by Rs 4000 to Rs 28,000, Kaghzi Wahidi edged up by Rs 3000 to Rs 18,000, Walnut in Shell I finished higher by Rs 800 to Rs 6,800, Chilgoza (Roasted) went up by Rs 16,000 to Rs 54,000, Chilgoza (Un-roasted) finished upward by Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 and Pistachio moved lower by Rs 4000 to Rs 48,000.
