The Lahore High Court has issued notice to Chairman Liquidation Board in a contempt petition filed by a citizen Anwar Hussain praying to the court to direct the respondent chairman to pay the amount for the land acquired by the board. The petitioner contended that liquidation board had acquired a piece of land of her mother and failed to pay its price amount.
Her mother approached the Lahore High Court, which had directed the respondents to pay the amount. The petitioner contended that her mother had died but respondent board officials failed to pay the amount and exposed themselves for contempt of court. He, therefore, prayed to the court to initiated contempt of court proceedings against the respondents for not paying amount.
