A city magistrate here on Tuesday granted four days physical remand of two accused allegedly involved in the death of three-year-old girl Amane at Doctors Hospital till December 12. Johar Town police produced General Manager Doctor hospital Zia ullah Bokhari ad Dr Hafiz Sanaullah in handcuff before the court.
Counsel for the hospital argued that hospital administration has no link with the incident and section 322 of PPC is also a bailable offence. He requested the court that there is no need of physical remand and the accused might be sent to judicial lockup. The counsel for complainant Muhammad Azhar Siddique opposing the arguments submitted said that it is not mere an incident of medical negligence rather it is an attempt to murder. He said the hospital administration is fully responsible for the death of Amane, as it had hired the doctors working there.
He said injections administrated to baby were yet to be recovered from the accused. He said these accused might also help police arrest of Dr Sundeep Kumar who is still at large. The magistrate, Sahir Islam, after hearing arguments from both sides granted remand of both accused and directed police to reproduce them before the court on next date of hearing.
Meanwhile, Johar Town police during the course of investigation have also added seven new section of Pakistan Penal Code in the FIR. These provisions are section 319 (Qaitl-i-Khata, bailable), 419 (cheating by impersonation, non-bailable), 420 (cheating and inducing, bailable), 201(causing disappearance of evidence of an offence, bailable), 109 (abatement), 148 armed with deadly weapon, bailable, 149 (member of unlawful assembly).
