A youth was killed while his friend sustained serious bullet wounds in the jurisdiction of the Awami Colony, said police on Tuesday. According to police, an unidentified armed person riding a 125-CC motorcycle intercepted Naeem Qureshi son of Imamuddin and Bashir son of Zahoor near their house located in the C area of Korangi Industrial Area and sprayed both of them with bullets.
Resultantly, Naeem Qureshi died on the spot while his friend Bashir sustained serious bullet injuries. Both were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate and Medical Centre (JPMC), the police added. Initial investigations suggested that the deceased was the nephew of active leader of Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) Noman Qureshi and was receiving life threat from unknown persons. His uncle also left the country recently after receiving serious life threats. No FIR was registered till filing of the report.
