The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with Sindh Culture Department organised two-day exhibition at Sindh Museum Hyderabad. Artisans of Hyderabad, Matiari, Hala, Bhitshah and other parts of the province displayed their handicrafts on different stalls.
The Director General TDAP Bashir Ahmed Shaikh, while talking to people after inauguration of the exhibition, said that the purpose of organising this exhibition was to increase exports of handicrafts as the government had fixed a target of $1 million. At this occasion, TDPA consultant Saeed Tamimi, while highlighting the main features of the trade policy said that people abroad show great interest in Pakistani handicrafts.
Durr-e-Shahwar, chairperson of the women's wing of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that our women had lots of potential and if they are supported, they will prepare valuable goods as they had already made their way in export trade. Fashion and media consultant Mehreen Illahi said that for the promotion of handicrafts, such exhibitions would also be organised in other parts of the country.
