Project Manager, Community Support Concern (CSC), Dr Noor-ul-Zaman Rafiq has said that CSC is working in the far fledge areas of the country where the health facilities are not available to common people. He said that five health centers are working in Dera Ghazi Khan for the population of 200,000 people whereas facilities are being provided in Multan regarding the awareness about Aids.
He expressed these views while giving a briefing on different development projects running in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan in a press conference arranged by UN Aid, IWW, and European Commission. Technical Advisor IWW, Abid Atiq said that we are trying to provide health facilities along with CSC in those areas where these are not easily available. Programme Officer UN Aid Programme, Dr Nasir Sarfaraz said that it is the dire need of time to create awareness among the people about the hazardous diseases.
UNFPA, Daniel Baker on this occasion said that we would have to work together for the Aids affected people, for their rehabilitation and to provide them better medical facilities. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon also wants to visit Multan in this regard, he added. He further said that UNFPA has established basic health centers along with CSC in the far and backward areas of the country.
