President Asif Ali Zardari discussed with Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan some legal matters in relation to National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) at the Presidency on Thursday, according to sources. Aitzaz Ahsan who played a lead role in the movement for the restoration of judiciary was criticised by the party for his stand in the lawyers' movement.
According to sources, being a key central leader of the party, he is being offered the slot of Attorney General of Pakistan to fight legal battle on behalf of PPP or the federation in NRO and other cases of national importance. Although, he has refused to take any official responsibility to protect his image, he is likely to accept some position after the resolution of NRO issue by the apex court.
