I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartiest congratulation and best wishes to the management of Central Library, DHA on its 18 Anniversary celebrations. It is one of the Landmark of DHA which is promoting and serving the cause of education. I have seen the Central Library and to my surprise I saw the number of students in the library, this shows the Libraries have not lost its importance.
I feel this is a healthy sign and will definitely help in the promotion of the use of library not only in DHA alone but all over the country. It is encouraging to see that Central Library, Karachi, is an emerging centre of literary and cultural activities of Karachi, the Library has about 60,000.volumes. Library is the most important source to promote education, literature and awareness in the country. There are numerous and important impacts those results from the use of a library.
Libraries play a significant role to enhance the quality of life and promote the cultural environment in the society. Through books we can have personal contact with the greatest minds ever produced. The books are the only source where we can recap the centuries or the peer into the future. It is of great disappointment the culture of using the library is fading out at very rapid pace but I am confident that libraries would gain its lost image and with the passage of time it will have the students back within its fold, we should remember that Libraries are the lifeline of nation. I wish the management of Central Library, DHA, and the best in the future.
