Pakistan Army on Wednesday killed eight terrorists, including commander Qari Ismail in Kurram Agency and commander Gulbadeen Mehsud in South Waziristan Agency (SWA), during on-the going military operation "Rah-e-Nijat." According to the defence sources, Qari Ismail was killed in Dogar during a search operation when the security forces targeted the hideouts of the terrorists with gunship helicopters and heavy artillery.
During the last 24 hours, the security forces took control of Badma, Toda Ubam, Tindo, Badam, Janikot, Tarli, and Sultani. According to the sources, the security forces are successfully moving forward in the Kurram Agency, clearing many important areas of the terrorists. To a question, the sources said that it was too early to tell when the operation would end in the Kurram Agency.
Meanwhile, an ISPR spokesman said the security forces, in a military assault in South Waziristan, killed Gulbadeen Mehsud and destroyed a vehicle at Dosali near Miranshah. During the last 24 hours, the Pakistan Army killed six terrorists, whereas one solider was martyred and six got injured. Three terrorists were killed at Ghundakai near Mirkhoni in an encounter.
A mosque was damaged in the firing by the terrorists at Mana Camp. Eighteen compounds were cleared by the security forces in search operation along Razmak-Ghariom Axis at Umarzai Zhawar near Janata. During the operation, the security forces from Shuza, Aghzar Khel, Sultano near Ladha, China and Makeen recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition.
Terrorists fired with small arms at security forces check post at Sararogha and Shuza Defile, which was effectively responded, killing two terrorists. One solider was martyred and six terrorists were injured when the terrorists fired rocket at Golden top, Lowara Punga and Mana camp. About the relief activities, the ISPR spokesman said that 24,550 cash cards were issued to displaced families of Waziristan.
Meanwhile, during the operation "Rah-e-Rast" in Swat and Malakand, two suspects voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Madyan. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered by the security forces at Tangai near Matta during the search operation.
