UoP holds disaster management demonstration

The Center for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar organised a Disaster Management Demonstration in collaboration with the City District Government Peshawar on Wednesday on Campus. In the demonstration Fire Extinguishing Exercises, bringing the patients to the hospital and first-aid along with relief work at earth quake practical demonstration was done.
Also the disaster management for floods and earthquake was demonstrated on the day. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, Dr Azmat Hayat Khan said that CPDM has the hallmark for being the only disaster management in the country. He said that demonstration like Wednesday would go a long way in creating public awareness about efficient management at the time of disaster or emergency.
Vice-Chancellor, University of Peshawar Professor: Dr Azmat Hayat Khan, Center for Disaster Preparedness and Management Director, Professor: Amir Nawaz, Director Islamic Center Dr Dost Muhammad, Deputy Director City District Government Roshan Khan, Commander Rescue 1122 Farooq Khan along with a large number of students and faculty member attended the ceremony.
