Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has ordered Lahore Police that, during holy month of Moharram, foolproof arrangements for checking and screening at all entry and exit points of the city be ensured. CCPO further directed that during Moharram, no one would be allowed to display weapons and, in case of any violation, strict legal action would be initiated.
He said that metal detector should be used at the entrance of the Imam Bargah and no one should be entered without checking to avoid any untoward incident. CCPO directed all divisional SPs to personally check the force deployment and patrolling of mobile squad in their respective areas, besides paying random visits to sensitive places. The CCPO said he would himself inspect various places also in order to review the security arrangements.
In his official communiqué, CCPO said that all senior police officers should monitor the security at Majalis in their respective areas to ensure peace and harmony during Moharram-ul-Harram. He said that any violator should be arrested immediately and stern legal action may also be taken against him.
Rathore said that all the senior officers make sure the implementation of all the officials over special security plan regarding Moharram-ul-Harram and check the attendance of the officials according to the plan. He said that stern action would be taken against the officials found absents from duty. He informed that crises management centres would be established in the city, which would function round the clock, while a special control room would also be set-up in the office of CCPO for co-ordination between various agencies.
