People, belonging to different walks of life, including womenfolk, have expressed their satisfaction over the historic verdict of declaring National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) null and void by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Expressing their views, they said on Thursday that the Pondera's box of large scale corruption of our leaders was opened, which was a caution for others, and the historic verdict had paved the way for taking action against the corrupts.
They said that President Asif Ali Zardari, ministers and other influential, if they believed in democracy, should step down and surrender the looted money voluntarily for reducing the financial constrains of the country. "If such persons continue their portfolio and offices, it would be negation of the spirit of democracy and their tall claims of being champions of democracy would be shattered and people would hate these leaders," they said.
"It is high time that at all persons involved in corruption should decide their fate in accordance with their own conscience and quit from the government for the larger national interests," they added. They said they were observing everything thoroughly, but were silent, and added that their silence was indicative of a big political tempest in the country.
