Sahiwal's Young Blood Football Club struck twice in the last 19 minutes and edged out Quetta's Baloch Football Club 3-1 in the final of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) League (Club Phase) here at Punjab University Ground, Old Campus situated on Lake Road, Chauburji on Thursday.
The win enabled the Sahiwal's Young Blood Football Club to get the honour of playing in the next year's Pakistan Premier League. SSGC annexed departmental Phase on 14th December, while Young Blood were victorious in club phase on Thursday. Baloch Football Club, which played PPFL in 2004, was the first to take lead when FIFA Referee Asif bin Younus awarded them 22nd minute penalty-kick.
Noor Muhammad made no mistake from the spot. Sahiwal's winger Sajid levelled the issue in the 41st minute. It was 1-1 at interval. The second session provided two spectacular goals in the 71st and 80th minute that sent the match into clutches of Sahiwal. Midfielder Abid showed class with blistering overhead kick to make it 2-1 and winger Nasir dashed through the middle, went past whole of defence including keeper Muhammad Tahir to push the ball in.
