German prosecutors have filed terrorism charges against a Turkish woman they say was a leader in Europe of a banned left-wing militant group. Federal prosecutors said Thursday that 34-year-old Nurhan E. was charged with membership in a terrorist organisation - the DHKP-C, which seeks to topple the Turkish government and replace it with a Marxist one.
She is alleged to have led the organisation's German and European operations from July 2007 until her arrest in November 2008, and is accused of organising efforts to supply funding and weapons to the group.
