Chief Minister Punjab Sports Cup 2009: Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Lahore win in football

Three matches were played in connection with Chief Minister Punjab Sports Cup 2009 here at Punjab Stadium. In the first match, Sahiwal Football team defeated Rawalpindi Football team 3-0. Muhammad Tariq, Mubashar Hussain and Muhammad Adeel of Sahiwal netted one goal each. In another match, Bahawalpur soccer team defeated DG. Khan soccer team by 1-0.
Moreover, in the first match of volleyball played at Government College for Boys Gulberg, Lahore defeated Bahawalpur 2-0. In the second match, Rawalpindi defeated Multan 2-1 and in the third match, Sahiwal defeated Gujranwala 2 - 0. In the first Volleyball Girls match held at Government Physical College Township, Bahawalpur defeated Lahore 2 - 0.
In the second match Sahiwal defeated Faisalabad 2 - 1, while in the third match Gujranwala defeated Sargodha 2 - 0. Likewise, in athletics competitions held at Punjab Stadium, Asif Ali of Faisalabad secured first position, Muhammad Asif of Lahore stood second, while Umar Farooq of Bahawlapur obtained third position in long jump (boys).
