The researchers, policy-makers and key persons from government, NGOs, private and corporate sector were provided with an opportunity to explore about role of government, non-governmental organisations-NGOs and private sector in social and economic development of Pakistan and make recommendations regarding research methods, data, policy considerations, and communication in concluding session of two day national conference organised by Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas on late Sunday.
The recommendations were presented in concluding session which was presided over by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh. Mazharul Haq Siddiqui while Sabiha Shaheen Executive Director of Bargad Gujranwala was chief guest. This conference was one of several recent activities that reflect increased recognition of the importance of both social and economical development of country, and a growing number of research studies highlight the rising concern regarding social and economic development of country.
The scholars appreciated University's contribution in research and development and proposed continuous efforts for social and economic development of the country. They underlined need of the research for the quality of life of common men and also education, health, rural development.
The scholars also proposed for holding conference as regular feature of the new campus and said that the conferences and seminars are the identity of the universities. They said that it is most essential that government, NGO's and private sector must work in collective manner for achievements target results.
The scholars congratulated organisers and paper presenters and offered their full co-operation. The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui on this occasion lauded contribution of young scholars from different universities and research organisations who presented their papers during the conference.
He said that future responsibilities lies on youth and expresses hope that they would lead the society with their sincere efforts towards research and education. Sabiha Shaheen also appreciated young scholars and university for providing opportunity to young scholars to share their ideas towards social and economic development of Pakistan.
She said that the University of Sindh has set a unique tradition and posed confident on the youth who are real future of the country. Professor Dr Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar on this occasion express thanks to all participants and hoped that scholars will extend their co-operation in future also and for the development of new campus of the university.
