Pakistani High Commissioner in New Delhi, Shahid Malik, along with his associates called on senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. According to Kashmir Media Service, the Pakistani High Commissioner visited Syed Ali Gilani's Malviya Nagar residence in New Delhi. During the meeting, the senior Kashmiri Hurriyet apprised the envoy about latest situation in occupied Kashmir.
Syed Ali Gilani told Shahid Malik that Indian authorities were restricting the free movement of Hurriyet leaders and activists. He maintained that the Kashmiris had successfully completed in the seven districts the protest campaign for withdrawal of Indian troops from the occupied territory.
The Hurriyet leader informed the envoy that men in uniform were involved in the rape and murder of two Kashmiri women in Shopian. He emphasised that the Kashmiris were struggling for securing their right of self- determination. The Pak envoy ensured the Hurriyet leader that his country would continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause.
