Malaysian shares closed up 0.38 percent on Tuesday on bargain hunting and in line with stronger regional markets, dealers said. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) gained 4.76 points to 1,260.42. Advancers outnumbered losers 327 to 235. "The index breached 1,260 on Monday (although the index stayed around this level) we think this indicates further weakness for the KLCI in the short to medium term," a dealer told Dow Jones Newswires.
Among major stocks, gaming group Genting rose 1.70 percent to 7.27 ringgit and EON Cap bank added 1.70 percent to 7.0, while Malaysia Airports shed 2.70 percent to 4.02.
