The Karachi Port handled 122,446 tonnes of cargo including 83,888 tonnes of import and 38,558 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 83,888 tonnes comprised 26,698 of tonnes of dry cargo including 19,566 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,132 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,000 tonnes of steel scrap and 57,190 tonnes of oil and/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 38,558 tonnes, comprised of 38,558 tonnes of dry cargo including 30,357 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,201 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,775 tonnes of cement and 5,606 tonnes of rice. Five ships namely Lucky Arrow, Kota Lambai, Sima Sahba, Patriot and Hanjin Goynia sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Patriot, Bunga Raya Sambilan, Saigon Express and Hyundai Commodore are currently at the berths. Two ships namely MT Johar and Bunga Raya Sambilan are expected to sail on Thursday, while four vessels viz Saigon Express, Hyundai Commodore, Bunga Raya Sambilan, Western Singapore and Cathrina are expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz Quetta, MSC Germany, APL Sharjah and Rising Phoenix due to arrive on Thursday, while eight ships namely Songa Hawk, Navig % Adams, Irish Sea, TS Jakarta, Daffodil, YM Europe, Valbella and Chi Yun are due to arrive on Friday. Four ships namely Chem Bridge, OEL Trust, Merian and Maa Samuda Khatun are due to arrive on Saturday.
The total export cargo of 22,576 tonnes including 3,248 tonnes of rice; 5,864 tonnes of cement and 13,464 tonnes of containerised cargo. Five vessels viz CV CMA CGM Jade, CV ACX Jasmine, MT Gas Solawesi, MT Fair Spirit and MT Sichem Marseille sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely CV Mare Phoenicium is expected to sail on Thursday.
Nine vessels viz CV CMA CGM Jade, CV ACX Jasmine, CV Mare Phoenicium, MV Aeolos, MV Green Line, MV Princess Yasmine, MT Gas Solawesi, MT Fair Spirit and MT Sichem Marseille are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, furnace oil, LPG and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
A total number of three ships namely SC Liaoning, Carmen Silva and Leopard-B carrying chemicals, rice and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Four vessels viz CV NYK Kai, MV Carmen Silva, MT SC Liaoning and MT Gemini scheduled to load/offload containers, rice, chemicals and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1), Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Oil tanker MT Al-Soor-II carrying diesel oil due to arrive on Thursday, while two more ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano and MV Pancaldo with containers and general cargo are due to arrive on Friday. Container vessel CV MSC Sudan is due to arrive on Saturday, while two more ships namely Norasia Alps and Jbu Mass with containers and chemicals are also due to arrive.
