Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh, Sharmila Farooqui, has said that in future Nadra will issue the forms for Bennazir Women Support Programme She was addressing a press conference in the office of Gender Interactive Alliance (GIA). GIA President Bindia Rana and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion. On the occasion Bindia Rana apprised the advisor about the problems faced by eunuchs.
The advisor pointed out that so far 2000 forms out of 18,000 issued for registration of eunuchs have been filled and steps are being taken for expeditious completion of the process. She said an ambulance and provision of essential medicines are being arranged for GIA office.
Referring to concern shown by GIA, Sharmila Farooqui said that condition of medical examination in the forms issued by Nadra has been included to ensure transparent completion of the process and that no one else could take illegal benefit of the facilities to be provided in future.
She assured that a meeting will be held for a separate column in the form for CNIC for eunuchs. The advisor appreciated the Supreme Court's directive for small loans for eunuchs, free medical facility, free education and provision of other facilities and said the government will ensure their implementation.
