Vladimir Potanin, the billionaire co-owner of Russian mining giant Norilsk Nickel said on Friday he might get a minority stake in French bank Societe Generale after 2010. "We have a strategic plan to become a shareholder of Societe Generale, after a while.
Our French partners are favourably disposed towards this idea and invite us to join the bank's shareholder list," Potanin told reporters. Societe Generale plans to consolidate its Russian assets that include Delta Bank, Rusfinansbank and a 65 percent stake in Rosbank, which is co-owned by Potanin's holding company Interros.
