NAB issues arrest warrants for Nawaz’s children
The accountability court on Tuesday has decided to indict former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in three NAB references on October 2 and issued bailable arrest warrants for his children and son-in-law Capt Safdar (retd) as they failed to appeared before court.
The judged has warned that if they failed to appear on next hearing, he would issue their non-bailable arrest warrants.
Sharif arrived in the court amid tight security and an extensive protocol comprising more than 30 vehicles. During a brief proceeding the accused were directed to submit surety bonds of Rs1 million each. The court also announced to indict ex-premier on October 2 in the cases pertaining to London flats and Azizia Steel Mills against the Sharif family, local media reported.
The court had also summoned members of his family, including Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz and her husband retired Capt Safdar, but they did not appear today since they are still in London in connection with treatment of their mother Kulsoom Nawaz.
The former Prime Minister will also hold an important press conference today.
