South Chinese kills six in knife attack: state media

A man in south China has been charged with killing six people and injuring nine others with a knife used to slaughter pigs in the latest in a recent spate of mass murders, state media said Thursday. Huang Yangfang, 46, was arrested following Wednesday's killings in the village of Changshan in Guangdong province, the Guangzhou Daily reported.
According to the report, a family dispute allegedly drove Huang to strike at fellow villagers after a heavy bout of drinking. Huang also used a hoe as he pummelled his victims, it said. Two were killed at the scene, while four died in hospital. The deadly rampage was the latest in a series of gruesome murders in China in recent weeks. On Monday, a man in northern Hebei province suspected of killing seven relatives and injuring another four people over a family dispute committed suicide as police tried to arrest him, Xinhua news agency reported.
