Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that infrastructure is of key importance for rapid development and promotion of economic and trade activities. Therefore, the Punjab government has adopted a solid strategy in this regard.
He said that in addition to education, health, water supply and other basic facilities, improvement of infrastructure was also being given due importance by the government, and billions of rupees were being spent on infrastructure development in the province.
He said that state-of-the-art Shalimar Interchange had been completed in a record period of time and besides the biggest flyover of the province all development projects are being executed in a transparent manner, and corruption and misappropriation of development funds had been eliminated forever. He said that all resources had been allocated for the welfare of the masses.
He said that Shalimar Interchange would not only rid the people of traffic problems, but would also prove to be a milestone in the progress of the province. He was talking to a delegation of citizens here on Saturday who paid tributes to the Chief Minister on completion of Shalimar Interchange project.
The Chief Minister said that development projects were being implemented expeditiously in the provincial metropolis as well as all districts of the province and third-party audit system had been made compulsory for ensuring transparent utilisation of funds. He said that no project was completed in timeframe in the tenure of last government due to which national exchequer suffered a loss of billions of rupees.
