Hotmail is often credited with making free email ubiquitous. The service is still around as Windows Live Mail (http://mail.live.com), and thanks to the competition provided by Google's Gmail, it offers more than ever.
Available in 36 languages, Live Mail users receive 2 GB of storage space for free and have easier tie-ins with Microsoft Outlook and Mail than ever before. Live Mail has also beefed up its search capabilities and its ability to aggregate multiple external e-mail accounts.
