ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi on Tuesday said former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was the most popular political leader of the country and he was still head of the Party.

Talking to a private news channel, he said Nawaz Sharif was lives in hearts of the masses and they have strong affiliations with their beloved leader and nobody could remove this association from them.

He said opposition was just opposing and criticizing to Nawaz Sharif for only point scoring, adding that no corruption charges were proved against him in the Panama papers case but he was disqualified on having an Iqama.

He rejected any deal regarding returning of Nawaz Sharif and said the PML-N was strongly believing in the supremacy of law and working for the rule of law in the country.

Hanif Abbasi hoped that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan would be disqualified from the court because he had failed to provide his money trail before the Supreme Court regarding foreign funding case.

He said PML-N had struggled for restoration of judiciary in the country and he went to jail three time for the independence of judiciary.

The PML-N leader said performance of the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was the best as compared to others provincial CM's and people of other provinces wanted an active CM as like Shehbaz Sharif for their areas.

Replying to a question, he said Sheikh Rasheed was the companion of dictator and he was a self made spokesman of the court.
