CIA Police Cantt division Lahore has arrested dangerous inter-provincial gang, Ziarat Gul Pathan, including its ringleader, who had abducted for ransom child specialist, Dr Aslam Khan, resident of Wahdat Colony Lahore, for ransom of thirty million rupees.
This was claimed by SSP Investigation Zulifqar Hameed while addressing a press conference here on Monday. He further said this inter-provincial gang has been arrested, along with its ringleader, from Khaibar Agency Tera Para, NWFP. The kidnapped doctor has been got freed by CIA Police from the criminals, after four months, without paying any ransom.
During initial investigation, the culprits have revealed that they had kidnapped the child specialist Dr Aslam Khan on the orders of Commander Mangal Bagh of Lashkher-e-Islami Tanzeem and the extorted ransom to be spent on Jehad. The culprits had also stolen many vehicles and kidnapped five other persons who had been sent to trible area. Police has recovered illegal weaponry and cartridges from them.
He said that Dr Aslam Khan was abducted on August 22, 2009, and a call came from an unknown person demanding ransom of rupees thirty million for his release. CCPO constituted a special team to arrest the culprit. The special team working day and night arrested five criminals in this regard.
The police team unearthed the abductor Ziarat Gull alias Badshah s/o Fathe Muhammad Pathan of District Dir, who is currently residing at 14/A Abbot Road, Royal Park Lahore. On the complaint of kidnapped doctor's brother, a case No 452 dated 23-08-09 was registered in Wahdat Colony police station.
During the initial investigation, the accused have also confessed to stealing different vehicles which included Honda VTI NO LWB/221, FIR No 884/08 dated 12-09-08 police station Qilla Gujjar Singh, Carry Daba No LWM/4136, FIR No 1066/07 dated 16-11-07 police station Qilla Gujjar Singh, Carry Daba No 4136/LWM, Suzuki Mehran FIR No 920/07 dated 04-10-07 police station Qilla Gujjar Singh, Suzuki Mehran No LOP/7456 and other vehicles.
The arrested criminals were identified as ringleader Ziarat Gull alias Badshah s/o Fateh Muhammad, Salman Butt alias Mani Butt s/o Tariq Butt, Moeen Butt s/o Rafique Butt, Muhammad Asif s/o Muhammad Khalid and Ali Man Shah s/o Naqab Shah. Further investigation is in progress. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the special police team of CIA Cantt division.
