Direct talks on Kashmir: Indian Prime Minister urged to respond positively to Pakistan's offer
Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) on Tuesday urged Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to respond positively to Pakistan's offer for direct talks on Kashmir. Addressing party workers in Jammu, President of the Democratic Forum Pandit Bhushan Bazaz said the tension between two countries is because of the non-resolution of Kashmir issue.
The government of India without wasting any time must respond positively to the Pakistani offer and initiate talks, he said. Pandit Bazaz said Kashmir solution is imperative for peace in the whole region and can lead to prosperity and development. A small mistake in South Asia can prove disastrous, he said and hoped the government of India and Pakistan will leave the bitterness of the past behind and work for a solution of the burning Kashmir issue.
Terming the Pak-India friendship vital for the people of South Asia, especially the people of Kashmir, Bazaz appealed the leaders of both the countries to build bridges of friendship by resuming the composite dialogue, so that all issues can be settled amicably.
