The Punjab government will install 200 mechanical tandoors for strengthening "Sasti Roti" programme at a cost of Rs 60 million in the province, Chairman STP and member National Assembly Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said here on Tuesday. Abbasi opened tenders for the purchase of mechanical tandoor, eight to be set up in each big districts and three in each small district.
He said the government will supply flour to these tandoors at a subsidised rate to supply Roti at Rs 2 per piece. Besides, the government will provide interest free loans to winner of the tender who will repay cost of the tandoor at a monthly instalment of Rs 5,000.
