The 82nd birth anniversary of Pakistan People's Party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was celebrated in Multan and throughout South Punjab on Tuesday by PPP workers in a befitting manner. Birthday cakes were cut and services of the late leader were eulogised by party stalwarts.
In Multan, main function was organised by PPP City at the residence of Khurshid Ahmed Khan and another major function was held at the residence of former Law minister Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Awan which was attended by local office-bearers, including Khawaja Rizwan Alam , M Salim Raja, Salim-ur-Rehman Mayo, Malik Aamer Dogar, Malik Ahmed Hussain Dehar, MPAs and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders dispelled the impression that the PPP co-chairperson and President of Pakistan was losing his popularity and said the some anti-state elements were spreading such rumours to defame the party. They said the PPP was trying to unite all political forces at one platform to strengthen the democracy and institutions. The speakers paid tribute to the late Bhutto for services he had rendered to the cause of the masses. The Pakistan People's Party leaders said that party would continue Bhutto's mission.
