Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has released the production statistics of cotton according to which, 11.9 million bales of cotton have reached in the ginning factories of the country till January 1, 2010. Chairman PCGA, Abdul Rashid Khan told in a press conference that last year till January 1, 2009 about 9.7 million bales of cotton had reached in the ginning factories.
So, this year 2.1 million bales of cotton have reached more in the ginning factories with a ratio of 22.44 percent. The unsold stock left in the factories is about 1.2 million bales. Exporters have purchased about 0.7 million bales whereas TCP has not made any purchase of cotton during the current season.
During the season till January 1, 2010 about 380,000 bales of cotton have reached in the ginning factories of Multan, 167,000 bales in Lodhran, 640,000 bales in Khanewal, 378,000 in Muzaffargarh, 793,000 in Vehari and 920,000 bales have reached in Bahawalnagar.
