The 82nd birthday of PPP founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was celebrated on Tuesday by the party activists and other admirers across Azad Jammu and Kashmir with full respect and honour. Special gatherings of the workers and supporters of AJK chapter of PPP were held at district and tehsil headquarters across Azad Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate the birthday of ZAB with full simplicity, party's sources said.
In these meetings rich tributes were paid to Bhutto, his daughter and the party's martyred chairperson Benazir Bhutto with the renewal of the pledge to continue the mission of ZAB and BB. In Mirpur a special ceremony to observe the birthday of ZAB was held at local Peoples Secretariat of the party. The ceremony was attended among others by the local party leaders and workers.
Rich tributes were paid to the departed leaders, including ZAB and BB for their meritorious service for the nation and most particularly for giving the supreme sacrifice of their lives for maintaining the national unity, solidarity, and cohesion among the people of all the four provinces of the country as well as AJK.
Paying glorious tributes to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, the speakers termed the loss of lives of ZAB and BB an exceptional tremendous national loss of Pakistan. Strongly denouncing the judicial murder of ZAB and the brutal assassination of Benazir Bhutto the speakers further described the loss of the precious lives of Bhuttos, great loss to the nation and the country including Jammu & Kashmir but also to entire world in general and the Muslim ummah in particular.
The ceremony declared that ZAB and BB were the precious national asset. They were the prime symbol of national unity and harmony of Pakistan. "The great leader BB laid down their lives for the sake of the nation and the country by strictly following the mission and high democratic traditions of her late father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who, the meeting declared, preferred to go to gallows instead of bowing before the dictatorial rule and the anti-democracy forces.
The speakers reposed full confidence in the leadership of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Chairperson of the party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and vowed to continue the mission of ZAB and BB for turning Pakistan a true prosperous, developed and democratic state and for bringing the country at the path of democracy on permanent grounds.
