The Karachi Port handled 190,790 tonnes of liquid import cargo including 144,667 tonnes of import 46,123 tonnes of export cargo and 6,037 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 144,667 tonnes comprised of 82,384 tonnes of dry cargo including 58,976 tonnes of containerised cargo; 23,408 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,527 tonnes of DAP; 17,000 tonnes of coal; 4,258 tonnes of canola and 62,283 tonnes of oil and/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 46,123 tonnes comprised of 40,623 tonnes of dry cargo including 26,329 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,294 tonnes of bulk cargo; 13,416 tonnes of cement and 5,500 tonnes of oil and/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Wilma, Ocean Success, Sima Sahba and Bunga Raya Sebelas sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Asdrubal, Hyundai Baron, Wan Hai-501, Kish Star, Cap Gabriel and Providence are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Hanjin Duesseldorf, You Mei, MT Johar, Lucky Arrow and Wan Hai-501 expected to sail on Thursday, while four vessels viz Hyundai Baron, Cap Gabriel, Kish Star and Quetta expected to sail on Friday. One vessel viz MT Islamabad due to arrive on Thursday, while five ships namely BW Columbia, Bhairavi, LTC Calvin P. Titus, TS Dubai and YM America are due to arrive on Friday.
The total export cargo of 21,665 tonnes including 4,892 tonnes of rice; 3,645 tonnes of cement and 13,128 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three container ships namely Nedlloyed Honshu, CMA CGM Quartz, ACX Crystal sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another three ships namely CV Katharinas, MT Al-Badiyah and MV Carmen Silva are expected to sail on Thursday.
Seven vessels viz CV CMA CGM Quartz, CV ACX Crystal, CV Katharinas, MV Carmen Silva, MV Zenobia, MV Leopard-B and MT Al-Badiyah are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. A total number of four ships namely MSC Sarawak, BW Columbia, Iron Monger-5 and Tan Binh-36 carrying containers, diesel oil, crude oil and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two vessels viz CV Al-Noof and MT BW Columbia carrying containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. Chemicals carrier Bhairavi due to arrive on Thursday, while another three ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, CV MSC Sarawak and MT Chenroute Sun carrying containers and chemicals are due to arrive on Friday. Two vessels viz Donau Trader and Al-Deerah with containers and diesel oil are also due to arrive.
