KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar while taking notice of some media reports, has suspended deputy director Estate Department Usman Wasey and ordered to conduct inquiry in this matter.
According to details this was brought to the notice of the Mayor Karachi that the concerned deputy director had issued challan of the 20 shops in Korangi-4 without the approval of Mayor or Deputy Mayor Karachi and received huge sums while taking advantage of his posting, said a statement on Wednesday.
The Mayor Karachi taking strict notice of this and immediately suspended the deputy director and ordered full inquiry so that action could be taken against other officials too if they found involved in this.
Meanwhile it is learned from reliable sources that a media house was behind this deputy director.
The Mayor Karachi has said no corrupt practice will be tolerated in KMC and whoever is involved in such things will be immediately removed from his post and have to face strict action.
