All the Members of National Assembly and Senate belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Saturday demanded of the MQM Rabita Committee to allow them to sit in the opposition due to irresponsible attitude of the Sindh government.
In a press release issued here, they said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is in power in the Centre and in Sindh but the MQM workers are becoming victims of target killings. "The Lyari gang war terrorists, with the support of certain influential elements of Sindh government, kidnapped five MQM workers and brutally killed them," they added.
They said that only yesterday, these terrorists kidnapped a MQM worker Muhammad Amir son of Abdus Salam and beheaded him.' The MQM parliamentarians have sought permission from the party leadership to sit in the opposition against the Sindh govt inaction to check the killings of MQM workers. Meanwhile, leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Haider Abbas Rizvi has urged the government to take immediate action against Lyari gangs and protect people and Karachi from their brutalities.
In a chat with a private TV channel on Saturday, Abbas said Lyari was becoming a grave threat to peace in Karachi where target killings had become a common practice. He strongly criticised State Minister Nabeel Gabol for not taking action against these anti social elements and protect the area people who voted him to power.
