Federal Minister for Law Dr Babar Awan has said that no government ally was quitting coalition with the government, sources said on Sunday. Talking to media men at Lahore Airport, Babar Awan said that Karachi was the economic hub of the country and peace would be established there at any cost. He said that no one would be allowed to spoil the law and order situation in Karachi.
He further said that PPP believed in the politics of reconciliation and its government was taking concrete measures to maintain peace in the city. Babar Awan said that PPP was the greatest democratic party of the country and it did the politics of reconciliation to follow the vision of Benazir Bhutto and urged the opponents not to consider it their weakness.
He disclosed that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had discussed various issues of concern between PPP and MQM with Altaf Hussain during a telephonic chat and he hoped that situation in Karachi would come to normalcy soon.
He said that President Zardari was elected and constitutional president of the country and the people hatching conspiracies against the President were keeping soft corner for undemocratic forces in the country and they would dismantle their designs together.
