The separate sessions of the both Houses of the Parliament would be held simultaneously on Monday and would discuss a number of important issues of national importance.
The ICT administration has taken extra-ordinary security measures to cope with any untoward incident amid suicide blast and new wave of target killing in the largest city of country. The Lower House would meet at 3 pm with Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza in the chair, while Senate session would start at 11 am to be chaired by Chairman Senate Farooq H Naek.
The sessions of both the Houses are likely to be stormy due to new row of differences between Pakistan Peoples Party and its key ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement, which the other day even demanded of the government to allocate opposition benches to its members in both the Houses after what it opined failure of the federal and provincial home departments to stop the target killing in Karachi.
PML-Q lady MNA Marvi Memon and some other party parliamentarians also submitted adjournment motions to debate on target killing as well as blast in Karachi on Yuma-e-Ashura.
Besides, a number of important issues, the National Accountability Commission bill would likely be tabled before the National Assembly while Senate would likely take up the adjournment motion submitted by Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Mohammad Jamali and Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms Mian Raza Rabbani against the new discriminatory rules and regulations of inspection of Pakistanis at US airports.
The opposition members are planning to raise the burning issue of abnormal increase in electricity and gas tariffs as well as the load shedding. As the draft bill of National Accountability Commission was returned to the Premier by PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif with proposed amendments, the same would likely be tabled before the House during the current session.
Pakistan Muslim League-Q also submitted four adjournment motions on the financial package for NWFP to ensure that it meets the requirements of the public as well as the business community; water dispute and its status between India and Pakistan affecting Pakistani public; fuel reserves dropping drastically, the CNG crisis, and the Qadirpur crisis and price hike of flour and sugar in the country causing distress to the public.
